The itinerary

  • Leaving Edinburgh, make your way to the scenic valley of Glenshee, Braemar and the Royal Deeside. Stop at the Balmoral Castle Gardens for a wander and a bit of lunch. In the afternoon, visit Royal Lochnagar Distillery. You will arrive after a spectacular drive through the Cairngorms National Park.

  • This morning, experience a tasting of whiskies directly drawn from the cask at Glenlivet. In the afternoon, you are in for something a little bit different at Glen Garioch, where you will pair cheeses and whiskies.

  • Today, experience a premium tutored tasting at the Macallan. After lunch, you will visit the Speyside Cooperage, and learn all about the process of traditional cask-making in Scotland.

  • We head back south today, but before returning to Edinburgh you will be pairing whiskies and chocolates at Dalwhinnie (or Aberfeldy). The rest of the day is for a scenic exploration of Perthshire, stopping of course at unique whisky shops.
